So while I really enjoyed 2011 Wipe, I fail to understand what Charlie Brooker sees in Doug Stanhope. He’s not funny, he’s not insightful, and he makes the poetry of Tim Key (who I love as an actor) look Peter Cook calibre. Miserablist humor only works when the performer has a tinkle in his/her eye. Anyone can be grumpy and cynical: Brooker gets that, and so does David Mitchell....

I hate to say it, but Big Fat Quiz ‘11 really isn’t that good. I only ever laughed at David Mitchell and Eddie Izzard, and even they weren’t aren’t at the top of their games.
