rantcasey: oldfilmsflicker: danceyrself: The name is Watson, Joan Watson. Lucy Liu is set to play Sherlock Holmes’ sidekick in CBS’ drama pilot Elementary, whose tweaks to Arthur Connan Doyle’s classic include switching Watson’s gender to female. The project, written by Robert Doherty, is set in present day and stars Jonny Lee Miller as eccentric Brit Holmes, a former consultant to Scotland...

hannie-bananie replied to your photoset: Okay, that was funny. Anyone upstaging Ben Stiller… Also, Emma Stone. Well yeah, that goes without saying. Although I saw Crazy Stupid Love the other night and I may need some time to forgive her — and the other actors — for that.

I think Noah just threw his TV out of a window.
Had The Artist won Best Screenplay, I would’ve done. Woody Allen’s script wasn’t a masterpiece but at least it was, y’know, a story and not just a cut-and-paste job from A Star is Born. I knew The Artist was going to win Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor…I was tipsy and I had the Good Lady April to hold me back. But I appreciate the thought.

BUT--
That Christopher Guest sketch was magnificent. Why can’t he and his team do the Oscars?

Oh…man… If it wasn’t for the fact that I was watching with my roommate and my girlfriend, I would’ve turned off the Oscars this year. And that’s saying something. Really. Last year’s was awful but at least it was able to keep my attention with how badly put together it was. This was just dull. Nobody really wanted to be there outside of Harvey Weinstein and...

I'll be happy tonight if...
Gary Oldman upsets Jean Dujardin Either Moneyball or The Descendants (more likely the latter) upsets The Artist The Artist does NOT win Best Original Screenplay (I don’t really care who else wins) Emmanuel Lubezki wins Best Cinematography It ends before midnight and I’m not black-out drunk like last year The first two are unlikely but I can dream, dammit! And yeah, if The...
